On Thursday, October 22, 2026, DLVSystem will be in Castrolibero (CS) for “Educational Evolution in the Calabrian Landscape”, an event organized by the ITS Cadmo Academy Foundation. During the day we will present the results of the IOS4OS (Intelligent Optimization System for Optimization Solutions) project.

The event brings together schools, training providers, institutions and businesses. Participants include the Calabria Regional School Office, the Calabria Region, the Province, local mayors, Employment Centers, school principals, teachers and students. The focus is concrete: how Artificial Intelligence is already delivering measurable results in key sectors, shown through real research and development projects.

IOS4OS: Automated Reasoning as a Cloud Service

IOS4OS is funded under the PR Calabria FESR FSE 2021-2027 program (Action 1.1.1). The project brought the power of Answer Set Programming (ASP) to a cloud-native infrastructure, DLV-SaaS, connected to a new high-performance computing engine. DLVSystem led Work Package 2 and contributed to WP3. Our team handled:

  • the container-based architecture (Docker/Kubernetes) for delivering DLV-SaaS;
  • real-time data flow management;
  • integration with the new Core Engine (CDCL solver for ASP), developed together with DEMACS researchers.

The platform was validated on two use cases:

  • iPR (with Echopress), for automated project reporting;
  • Man-Pol (with e-way and DIMES), for optimizing Local Police shifts and resources.

The consortium is coordinated by lead partner e-way. Its members are DLVSystem, Echopress and the University of Calabria, with scientific direction by Prof. Carmine Dodaro (DEMACS).
